The hotel took its name from an old araucaria tree, that was preserved during the renovation. Right when the visitor arrives at the entrance the tree is being revealed. The purpose was to create a hotel that blends naturally with the adjacent landscape.
The materials that were used on the facades were local stone, white plaster and wooden pergolas.
In the interior more warm materials were used like wood and various fabrics. The corners were softened, and cement plaster is the finishing for the countertops and the bathroom, creating a feeling of simple and luxurious at the same time.
